Experience the Latest IE Download From Google
People do not generally awake one daytime and say “ah! I need to go internet; why do not I go and see about that Internet Explorer download today?”. The reason why no one necessarily to do that you could chalk up to the bitter web browser conflicts dating to the first days of the Internet. Microsoft at the time chose to savage its challenger by mixing it is Internet Explorer in Windows, thus obviating any need anybody would have to look elsewhere for a web browser. And therein lies the problem. If you’ve Windows XP, you are fundamentally attending have nothing fresher than Internet Explorer 6 installed by default on your computer. Why, can’t people download an update to come up to speed? In theory, they could. But most people have Automatic Updates switched off in Windows and do not even understand what exactly a web browser is, leave behind why they ask to upgrade.
But hold on there, are people really that clueless, that they don’t know what a browser is? There is an interesting impromptu survey published on YouTube about a guy going about Times Square, asking people what browser they use. Most of them have answers like, “Well, I just use Yahoo”. Everyone involved witn the Internet creating websites, finds this really annoying. All the latest Internet applications and whizbang feature-laden websites out there find it very hard to work properly on an obsolete browser like version 6 of Internet Explorer. It takes all kinds of programming acrobatics for website designers to get everything to work properly across all the old versions of Internet Explorer and the latest as well, and they can’t wait to see the back of it. So if no one can get people to go to the trouble of a new Internet Explorer download for the latest Version 8, let alone download a competing browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, Internet experts feel, perhaps a little sneakiness would be in order.
People may have a hard time understanding the need to download a new browser (or even understanding what an earth that means); but there is something else that everyone needs to download that they have no problems with – the Adobe Flash plug-in. This Internet standard allows browsers to display webpages that have rich video-like fancy features embedded. And Adobe has managed to get almost all Internet users around the world to install this – upwards of 80%. Apparently if you call it a plug-in, people find it a lot more palatable. The people over at Google, have an especially hard time with people who won’t download the latest browser; it means that no one will be able to use their Google Docs, or any of a number of other services. So they’ve come up with this bright idea; if you can’t convince people to go to the trouble of a new Internet Explorer download, or a new browser download, just tell them to add a plug-in to best use of a new website. When they click on “Yes”, just go ahead and gut out all the insides of Internet Explorer, install the functionality of Google Chrome inside Internet Explorer, and watch it dance. It still looks like Internet Explorer Version 6, but it sure doesn’t act like it.
They call this “plug-in” Chrome Frame. Well, why is Google coming this nice thing for Microsoft for nothing in return? It is just that, Chrome isn’t a moneymaker for Google. They’re giving it away free of charge anyway. Google simply wants everybody to have a fast web browser so that they can feel all the other things that Google has, that do make it a lot of money. Google Maps, would be one good example. As long as you are able to log onto Google’s myriad services, and click on ad or two while you are there, there are happy.
